ANY CHANCE OF SEEING HIM MORE? THE MUSIC HE PLAYED THAT NIGHT WAS FANTASTIC, ITS A SHAME WE DIDNT GET TO HEAR MORE AFTER THE SHOW. HE WAS ALSO GREAT ON THE RADIO THE NIGHT BEFORE." SOPHIE
Thanks – we had a great night – lots of us there and all willing to go to the next one.. A great success - Celine
Thanks for a wonderful night I hope a great deal of money was raised - Jane
Phil, very nice one and thanks indeed - Omo
Kerekes gig was off the scale!!! 11/10 ..saw the guys (Kerekes) in the Tikki and I haven't heard anything like it in there or anywhere else except maybe Jethro Tull 32nd anniversary gig in Italy, Pistoia Blues '99!!!....it certainly made our day and we were only dropping in as we passed on way to the bank from the addictive TV night at the Savoy. John
Just to say I was unfortunate to miss the culture gigs which I have heard were something else. I would definitely add my support for getting them to come back in December. That would be superb. I lived in Glasgow for 12 years but in the two and half years I have been in Limerick there has been more live reggae and world music artists. Keep up the good work and thanks. Hubert
Meant to get in touch with you earlier to say respect for bringing culture to Cork....the gig was too good to be making small talk!!! It was an amazing vibe to have such a quality reggae act in the city. I was fortunate enough last week end to see Black Uhuru, Babba Maal and Burnuing Spear in London. Made one realise we are lucky to have organisations as yours bringing world music acts of such calibre to Cork. Respect! Kevin
I will be delighted among with my other friends who attended Lucky Dube’s that evening to continue getting nice African artists. Moses
wow what a brilliant gig. Look forward to new tour news all the best. Will
Its a pleasure writing to youl. Great thanks to you for the job you are doing promoting African artists. I am an African/ Zimbabwean residing in Ireland. I have in the past attended shows organised by you in Limerick namely Albert Nyathi and Imbongi and lastly the guys from Senegal(Daara J). These have all been great shows and made me feel more proud to be African. The local people get to know about our culture as we learn theirs on a day to day basis. Thank you for your great work and look out for me at the Lucky Dube Show. Have tried getting everyone ready for the show. A full house is expected. Viva FeileAfrica,
Loved the Lo Jo gig in limerick the other night, keep bringing it along, I'm sure the audience will swell, I think everyone will bring a bigger gang with them next time. Maurice
Thanks for the work you are doing in supporting and showcasing African music in Ireland. I really enjoyed the recent King Sunny Ade gig. So much so that I wrote a poem about it and I thought you might like a copy. It's my attempt to sum up what being there meant to me.All the Music in the World (Tribute to King Sunny Ade) Rhythms spinning in my head Spooling out like silken thread Weaving sounds in time and space Echoes vanish without trace Down the years, down all the days. Watching the musicians play – Singing words both strange and new The meaning shining through – We are all united as we listen to The world’s sweet music. Patricia The Sunny Ade show was a nice one. We never wanted it to end but like every good thing, there has to be an end. Pamela My name is Olumide Iyanda an Asst Editor with Saturday Independent in Lagos, Nigeria. Keep the stuff coming. What are my chances of coming to Ireland to catch up on goings on in the entertainment/celebs/art circuit?
Just a quick note to say how great it was to see Femi in the Redbox last week. I talked to one of the dancers later (I hope it wasn't that poor girl that had her passport stolen) and she said that hey would be back next year. Do you have any info on this? I'm a huge Fela fan (Fela obsessive actually) but the young lad is a great live performer. Gerry
I'm in NYC so not a little out of geographic range for tour info - but it's interesting to hear what's going on over there so no problem having me on your list. Plus one of these days we'll fly over for a visit - I've never been... Rob Weisberg. WFMU Radio / 91.1fm NYC
I recently attended the Femi Kuti gig in the Red Box. I would like to inform you that the show was brilliant. I only found out that he was playing by pure chance. A lot of people I informed about the gig were very disappointed as they did not realise that Femi was playing in Dublin. If they had realised, they would have attended. D
Great Femi gig at the Red Box - was very excited to hear you refer to a possible Sunny Ade gig - any news? John
You’se lot are working hard and creating new musical adventures. More power. Max Reinhart
Well done with Orchestre Baobab, I saw them in Dublin when they were here previously and hugely enjoyed seeing them in Cork recently. Dara
Unfortunately I got home on August 1 so missed the main festival...most of all Orchestra Baobab...but I did get to the Wailers..that was a great night, but you're right about the heat..it was stifling. Those lads should consider putting in some A/C...I'll be back in Cork in early October so can't wait for Daara J, and the The Skatalites...wow...Keep up the good work! Neil.
Congrats on the lineup for Feile Africa August activities. You continue to be the cutting edge world music provider in the South!! I have moved to Japan for a one (or two) year stay, so I will be keeping in touch from here. I finished the MPhil in Ethnic and Racial Studies at Trinity College, with a very good overall mark!! Thanks again for your help and insights via phone conversation and e-mail. All the best for the future!! Matteo
I have been receiving your mails regularly and I wish to tell you that I think you are doing a great job! It was good to see Mozaic and the Orchestra Baobab, and I have enjoyed other acts that you have booked during the past year. I wish you continued success and look forward to more of the same. David
Papa Noel was really really good and needed in limerick. what are the dates for Horace Andy, Skatalites and the Wailers. I really enjoyed the Papa Noel gig and would appreciate up-dates on all future dates. It's great work you are doing. Thanks, Angus
Thanks very much to bring such good vibrations in the city. It is a much needed breath of fresh air, rhythms and melodies! Pizza&Love, Gianluca
Loved the Lucky Dube gig and look forward to attending more of the same. Bridget

I really enjoyed Lucky Dube, i have been a fan for years and seeing him live in Ireland (which I never thought would happen!!) was just amazing, him and his group were absolutely fantastic. Many thanks Corrie
Thanks for the email, Myself and my husband Livingstone would be delighted to hear about upcomming gigs of African artists. Like many others in Cork we are an African/Irish couple and therefore we would have a special interest in such gigs as they make us both feel right at home!! Warm Regards Laura and Livingstone
I've been getting your emails since attending the Oumou Sangare gig in Feb..it was my first visit to the Half Moon ...it's a great venue and it was a brilliant concert...Your newsletter is very informative and introduces me to musicians and artists that I wouldn't have previously had exposure to....I work in the Middle East and won't be home again 'till August so unfortunately I'm missing a lot of great gigs...You mention the festival in August...Are you able yet to give me any info on dates & line up?...I'm trying to organise dates for my hols...It'd be great if I could attend the festival while I'm there. Thanks and keep up the good work. Neil.
Loved Lo Jo and look forward to Lucky Dube. Clare
Keep up the good work!! Lojo was the best gig I've been to in years!! There was some seriously good energy through the room during and after the set.. Please keep me informed of upcoming events. Niamh
...i'd just like to say we really enjoyed Virginia's concert: a truly amazing voice and what a presence on stage!! As we heard about her purely by accident ( a sound engineer at Pierre Bensusan's gig in St. John's Listowel was playing her CD at the interval) we felt really privileged to be there in the Half Moon. .... brilliant music: keep up the good work. Mike
I am delighted and excited at this opportunity to hear such a diversity of music and will be a regular attender at future concerts at the Half Moon. In appreciation of this project. Aine
Just in relation to Lucky Dube: bloody brilliant and a nice bit of work. Tim

I LIVED IN LONDON BACK IN THE SEVENTIES AND SAW SOME AMAZING ACTS SUCH AS CULTURE AND I ROY. I MET HORACE ANDY IN LADBROKE GROVE WHERE HE LIVED SOME TIME AGO. I LOVE ALL HIS MUSIC FROM STUDIO ONE DAYS TO TODAY. AIDAN. P.S. LOOKING FORWARD TO FUTURE CONCERTS.

It is wonderful that so many exciting performances are coming to Cork and I want to thank you very much for facilitating this. Sheila.
Delighted to be on your mailing list and to know that Cork is lucky enough to have all these amazing musicians play here. Oumou Sangare blew me away--it's been quite a while since I've been to a gig like that--and I'm really looking forward to what's to come.I work in the Music Department in University College, Cork and always make a point of telling my students about gigs such as Oumou Sangare's. Kelly
Hope the next session is as well attended as Oumou's. Great work -- wonderful to have you in Cork, a great blessing. Light and Service. Jonathan and RuthI'm delighted to hear about your musical odysseys...lots to look forward to! I thoroughly enjoyed Oumou Sangare Caroline
I went to Sangare's show, it was fantastique.
I will go to others shows because I really enjoyed. Beatriz
Today on a Saturday through the Patrick Street jamboree, African drums play alongside the tin whistle hums and that may be the only hope for me to get the odd dance easily. Encore to Mali and divas with the ability to free beauty and boundaries that hound me and me and me and me and me. Trinity.
I look forward to hearing about future performances. Thank you for providing us with this magic music singing and dancing. Sheila
And more power to your hyp’ractive programming plans and like Rita said we’d love to come and join in...whenever!! Max
Thanks a million for
organising the gig last night. It was one of the best
